Your Most Cherished People

People often say to me “you must have a ton of pictures of your kids”.  Truth is, I don’t.  There have been too many times when I wish I’d captured that perfect moment – you know the one, where your child is standing in gorgeous golden light, with the look of wonder on his or her face, your heart about to burst with love.  I just want to soak up that fleeting moment and hold it in my head forever, rather than fumbling around with my phone and breaking the magic.

My family shoots are all about simply being together, just your genuine selves.  Your family as you are.  No need to coax fake smiles out of quiet children or tell energetic ones to stand still.  I’ll be there to document your time together so that you can be wholly present.  My goal is for you to view your pictures and think “that’s exactly how we are.”

Celebrating a Birthday?

Every birthday is a milestone, especially when your children are young.  Parties are a firm part of life and children will take fond memories of their birthday parties into adulthood, bringing all the happiness and joy eventually to their own families.  It’s also precious time for parents to reconnect with friends and family.  There is always a fleeting moment during a party when you survey the room and feel so lucky to be surrounded by a wonderful network of loved ones.

In the past I’ve tried taking pictures at my children’s parties – a big regret as I wasn’t able to spend as much time with my guests or really be present for my children.  I now have disjointed phone pictures living here and there.  It really is worth investing in just a couple of hours to document your event well.  I recommend spending just 20-30 minutes before the party for a quick mini-family shoot which is always appreciated as separate family shoots are often hard to organise later on.  Talk to me about how we can make it happen!
